Accommodation in a traditional house in a private residence
Minpaku Idobata is a private accommodation located approximately 3 minutes from the Kisei-Ouchiyama Interchange on the Kisei Expressway.
While the number of guests is decreasing due to the Corona disaster, the hotel is making various efforts to entertain guests.
Before and after my stay, there were a variety of visitors, from individuals to groups, including a person staying for a month-long stay to attend practical training at a nearby facility and a group staying for two or three nights.
There is a fishing tackle and bait store nearby, and some people stay overnight and go fishing early in the morning.
From check-in to dinner, I spent a relaxed yet focused time working at the hearth-like kotatsu table.
I feel like I am waiting for my parents to cook me dinner at home.
They are also enjoying the facility as a place where guests from overseas can try on kimonos, make accessories, and experience the tea ceremony.
For dinner, we were treated to a dish featuring ayu fish from the Ouchiyama River that flows nearby.
It is gorgeous with a large number of items.
We were able to have ayu fish because a river with clean water is right next to us.
The grilled baby ayu fish was savory and very tasty.
The accommodation is on tatami mats with futons laid out on the floor.
The room was perfect for those who miss tatami mats.
The atmosphere of a Showa-era Japanese country house can also be experienced from the lights that are turned off by pulling strings on the ceiling.
The campground behind Minpaku Idobata will be cleared in 2021 to make it more usable.
Wi-Fi is also available at the campground, so you can work outdoors.
Some fans use the well every summer and even make "well t-shirts".
At breakfast, we enjoyed delicious local delicacies, such as dried fish and miso soup with azuki beans, which are commonly eaten in the area.
We interviewed the owner, Mr.Kamimae.
He said that he wanted his stay here at Minpaku Idobata to be as relaxing and serene as if he were at his parents' house.
I believe that such hospitality is the secret to creating fans.
In addition to the operation of the guest house, the company also engages in various activities to enliven the community, such as developing products together with local residents and selling them in a kitchen car.
Nearby Spots
The perfect place to play in the river is just a couple of minutes walk away.
The Ouchiyama River, which is shallow and has no fast current and is clear enough for adults and children to play together during the summer, flows nearby.
Every July, the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism releases the results of water quality surveys of first-class rivers in Japan, and the Miyakawa River in Mie Prefecture has been selected as one of the 18 rivers with the "best water quality" at least four times in the 10 years from 2011 to 2020.
The Ouchiyama River is a tributary of its Miya River.
We visited Koubenomiya Yomou Shrine.
Departing from Minpaku Idobata, Koubenomiya Yomou Shrine is about a 7-minute drive away.
It is the only shrine in Japan named after the head shrine.
The shrine is known for its blessings for academic achievement and success in school.
I used to visit the temple when I took the exam.
I know it is very late, but I wanted to thank you for your help.
We purchased local Ouchiyama milk and products made from that milk.
We visited Ouchiyama Milk Village, located about 2 km from Koubenomiya Yomou Shrine.
As the area is a thriving dairy farming community, local Ouchiyama milk and products made from that milk are available for purchase.
Some products are available at supermarkets in Mie Prefecture, but there are products that are unique to this store, so we encourage you to visit.
The most popular soft serve ice cream.
It is refreshing, milky and delicious.
This is West Palm (banana bread) made with Ouchiyama milk and at least three whole bananas, which has been made for many years.
It is heavy, moist, and smells like bananas. I would like to eat it again.
The place was crowded with customers coming in and out of the restaurant.
Yaetani Spring
We were told that there was a spring that the owner had guided guests to and they had been very pleased with it, so we headed to Yaetani Spring.
Follow the signposts along the narrow mountain road, which barely allows one car to pass.
It was very pleasant to feel the clear river flow and air along the way.
From the middle of the road, get out of the car and walk for a while.
We arrived with cell phone reception gone and somewhat worried that we were lost.
The water was really clean.
The season we visited this time was autumn, but the water was clean and clear, because there are only clear rivers in
It will be fun to visit in the summer when you can play in the river and pitch your tent at the Wi-Fi equipped camp site.
